Alice Theobald at The Performance Studio, London

Alice Theobald is the second artist to take up residency in The Performance Studio’s current home in New Quebec Street near to Marble Arch in Central London. Her recent performance at Chisenhale Gallery in February 2014 – I’ve said yes now, that’s it. – brought together a cast of non-professional actors and musicians in a collaborative relationship that responded to the acoustics of the gallery — an approach that typifies her work.

The Performance Studio is a production and rehearsal space, set up by independent curator, David Thorp to provide a creative ‘hub’; a free space for invited artists to experiment with and cultivate live art related activities over an extended period of time.

Alice Theobald is currently in residence at The Performance Studio until June 7th 2014 during which time she has been filming the space for a new piece. Theobald is currently studying at the Royal Academy Schools, the residency at The Performance Studio will contribute to her final show.
