Keren Cytter at Museum Villa Stuck, Munich

Keren Cytter is included in the group exhibition, Der Stachel Des Skorpions (The Sting of the Scorpion), at Museum Villa Stuck, Munich. Bringing together six international artists – John Bock, Chicks on Speed, Keren Cytter, M+M, Julian Rosefeldt, and Tobias Zielony – the exhibition takes as its point of departure Luis Buñuel’s surrealist film “L’ Âge d’or,” from 1930, and its expanded concept of reality through the imagination. In the form of a cinematic exhibition, these six artists utilise the film medium to respond to the six separate, loosely connected, elements, or sequences, that define Buñuel’s film, each characterised by different content and stylistic features that are then re-articulated through the work of the artists involved. Cytter, in particular, responds to the peculiar love sequences found in the middle of the film.

The exhibition will then travel to Institut Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt, Germany, in June of 2014.
