Keren Cytter at the Künstlerhaus, Halle für Kunst & Medien, Graz

Keren Cytter at the Künstlerhaus, Halle für Kunst & Medien, Graz

Keren Cytter (born 1977 Tel Aviv, lives in New York) captures and explores human relationships, particularly the performed behaviours and interactions of everyday life. Working with narrative, Cytter plays with humorous, absurd, and deconstructed dialogues, which at times mix fictitious situations with real-life.

For this summer exhibition the artist presents a selection of video works and a selection of drawings embedded in the reconstructed exhibition space. In addition, Cytter produces a new video commissioned especially for the exhibition. The video OBJECT, influenced by images circulating on the Internet, describes ever-changing social structures that will be shot in Cytter’s apartment and backyard in New York.

A novel written by the artist accompanies the exhibition.
