Koo Jeong A, Philippe Parreno & Rirkrit Tiravanija at Swiss Pavilion, Venice Architecture Biennale 2014

Work by Koo Jeong A, Philippe Parreno, and Rirkrit Tiravanija has been included in this year’s Swiss Pavilion at the 14th Architecture Biennale in Venice. Curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist, the Swiss Pavilion celebrates the work of English architect Cedric Price (1925-2003) and the Swiss sociologist Lucius Burckhardt (1934-2003). Conceived by Parreno along with Asad Raza, Tino Sehgal, Herzog & de Meuron, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and Dorothea von Hantelmann, a group of trolleys containing original materials are moved and rearranged, reflecting on the contemporary act of the curatorial selection that mediates between the 20th century institution and 21st century future. A choreography of time-based homages made by contemporary artists including Parreno and Koo Jeong A are also on display.
