Alice Theobald at Two Queens, Leicester

Alice Theobald at Two Queens, Leicester

Alice Theobald will feature in the group exhibition ‘Too Much’, focusing on the emotive and affective properties of artistic expression and the way media is shared to communicate feelings. The show profiles emergent contemporary practices that respond to a series of emotional stimuli. The energies embedded within these works replace cynicism, disillusion and apathy with rage, fear and love. Curated by Two Queens as a response to the re-launch of Leicester’s collection of German Expressionist art held at New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, the exhibition considers the way in which media, technology and the internet in particular has had an effect on the way artists express themselves without relying on the formal heritage of expressionist painting. Other contributing artists include Jennifer Chan, Kitty Clark, Phoebe Colling-James, Jesse Darling, Rozsa Farkas, Jake Kent, Melika Ngombe Kolongo, Jaako Pallasvuo and Leon Sadler.
