Keren Cytter’s works with film, performance, drawings and photography are shown at Kunsthal Charlottenborg in September. The Copenhagen-based contemporary art gallery presents a series of work that explore human relationships and behaviour, and the dramatic conventions used to express them on stage and screen with movement, language, film, video and lighting. Inspired by daily situations, the artist’s own life and that of her friends, Cytter’s work presents love, desire, loss, violence and the vagaries of human communication, all the while scrambling the standard codes, narratives and imagery used to depict these themes.
