Leigh Ledare at Trondheim Kunstmuseum, Norway

Leigh Leadare is participating in Lips Painted Red, the Trondheim Kunstmuseum’s extensive thematic exhibition held this summer, curated by TKM Director Pontus Kyander.

Lips Painted Red is a project examining how female identities are created and maintained as daily routines, as experiments with personal or social life styles, as consequences of discomfort with gender expectations or with gender displacement. It examines these strategies through a variety of artists’ approaches – male and female, transsexual, and of several generations – and through texts written by writers and scholars for the catalogue. The exhibition will show work by 25 artists from around the world including: Claude Cahun, Penelope Slinger, Sanja Ivekovic, Shigeyuki Kihara, Vibeke Tandberg, Pauline Boudry/Renate Lorenz, Hye Rim Lee and Heli Rekula.
