Rirkrit Tiravanija’s feature-length film, Lung Neaw Visits His Neighbours (2011) will be screened at the CCA KITAKYUSHU Project Gallery, where Tiravanija served as Professor in CCA’s Research Program during the month of February 2014. The film follows 60-year-old retired rice farmer, Lung Neaw (Uncle Neaw), through the simple realities of daily life. In doing so, Lung Neaw offers the basic truths of a humble man, provoking a contemplative narrative that examines the ‘sustenance of self awareness and sufficiency,’ compassion, and humility.
