The Leeum Samsung Museum of Art has commissioned Tobias Rehberger to remodel the 26 sq meters Black Box Lounge designed by Rem Koolhaas. When I See the Other Side of Heaven, It Is Just as Blue will open to the public in September 2012. The work is inspired by the camouflage strategy of British battleship during the First World War. Fully covered with striped patterns, the space is both functional and reflective and thus offers the visitors an alternative mode of encountering art. With this project, Tobias Rehberger inaugurates a series of regular artists’ commissions organised by the museum in collaboration with corporate sponsors.
